New York Jets place LB Kiko Mauigoa on IR, sign Jaden Keller
The New York Jets placed linebacker Kiko Mauigoa on injured reserve and signed linebacker Jaden Keller to the active roster, the team announced Oct. 24, 2026. The club also elevated linebacker Troy Reeder and offensive lineman Brant Banks from the practice squad for Sundays game against the Miami Dolphins. The transactions were listed on the Jets’ official transaction report published Oct. 24, 2026.
Mauigoa, a second-year linebacker from Miami, sustained a quad injury in Week 6 against the New England Patriots and was placed on injured reserve after appearing in three games. He lined up on 26 special teams plays over those three games and had previously missed three weeks following a quad issue suffered against the Green Bay Packers. In 15 career games with eight starts, Mauigoa has 45 tackles and has played 329 defensive snaps and 230 special teams snaps.
Keller, listed at 6-3 and 235 pounds, signed with the Jets in May after receiving a rookie minicamp invite and was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster on Oct. 24, 2026. He had been elevated from the practice squad three times this season for games against the Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots. During the preseason, Keller recorded 10 total tackles and one pass defensed, according to the team’s transaction notes.
Reeder, listed at 6-3 and 245 pounds, was signed back to the practice squad on Oct. 14 after being released earlier in the month, and he was elevated for Sundays game. His career totals include 339 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 12 passes defensed, five sacks and three forced fumbles in 110 games. Reeder has appeared in four games this season (Weeks 2-5) and has recorded four tackles in 84 special teams snaps. Banks was added to the practice squad on Sept. 3 after spending the offseason with Green Bay, played collegiately at Nebraska and Rice and appeared in two NFL games last season while with the Packers.
The transaction report did not include a timeline for Mauigoa’s return. The moves give the Jets immediate linebacker depth and add offensive line depth for Sunday’s game. All roster designations and snap totals cited are from the Jets’ official transaction release published Oct. 24, 2026.

Removing Mauigoa from the active roster reduces the Jets’ special teams rotation but opens a spot for a player with prior game-day experience. Signing Keller rewards a practice-squad player the club has used multiple times this season and who showed production in the preseason. Elevating Reeder and Banks reflects a common roster-management approach of relying on experienced veterans and known practice-squad options for short-term depth.
