Chiefs Launch Champion ‘Chips Program to Honor Youth and High School Football Champions Across Region

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Oct. 7, 2026 — Every fall, thousands of youth and high school football players across Chiefs Kingdom compete for the opportunity to call themselves champions. This season, the Kansas City Chiefs launched Champion ‘Chips, a region-wide initiative that will recognize championship-winning flag and tackle football teams across Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. Through Champion ‘Chips, title teams will receive custom commemorative Chiefs-branded Champion ‘Chips as part of their celebration.
The program will honor champions from Chiefs Flag Football leagues, the inaugural sanctioned Kansas high school girls flag football season, and high school tackle football across the three-state region. Lauren Denowitz, vice president of brand and fan engagement, said, “Across Chiefs Kingdom, thousands of young athletes dedicate countless hours to their teams, their teammates, and the game of football.” She added, “Champion ‘Chips is a fun and meaningful way to praise those athletes and create a new tradition around championship moments.”
The initiative reflects the Chiefs’ commitment to growing football at every level and deepening connections with youth athletes, families and communities throughout the club’s home market area. The Champion ‘Chips celebration will coincide with fall championship tournaments, including the Kansas High School Girls Flag Football Championship on October 17; Chiefs Flag Football League championships in Kansas and Missouri in late October and early November; Nebraska boys high school tackle football championships on November 20, 23 and 24; Kansas boys high school tackle football championships on November 27-28; and Missouri boys high school tackle football championships on December 3-5. The club said the commemorative items will be distributed as part of those title ceremonies and the Chiefs will highlight championship teams and share their stories on the club’s NextGen digital and social platforms, including chiefs.com/nextgenfootball/championchips.

By tying commemorative recognitions to existing fall championship calendars, the Chiefs formalize a visible link between the franchise and the grassroots programs that feed regional interest in the sport. The initiative highlights the club’s support for the first sanctioned Kansas girls flag season while providing tangible recognition for teams across flag and tackle levels. Amplifying champions on NextGen platforms will raise the profile of local programs and give young athletes and their communities an added moment of celebration tied to the Chiefs brand.
