On Oct. 4, 2027, Minnesota Vikings kicker Will Reichard kicked five field goals and the Minnesota Vikings defense held the Miami Dolphins to 10 points in a 15-10 victory. Minnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson made receptions that helped sustain several drives, and Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray and the offense did not reach the end zone. The kicking game supplied all of Minnesota’s scoring as Reichard delivered repeatedly from distance.

Reichard’s successful attempts came from 47, 50, 33, 41 and 29 yards, and his first three field goals gave Minnesota a 9-0 halftime lead. Miami Dolphins kicker Riley Patterson hit a 27-yard field goal early in the third quarter to cut the deficit. Miami Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon II scored on a 12-yard rush late in the third quarter, and Patterson added the extra point to bring Miami within two. Reichard’s final 29-yard field goal in the fourth quarter preserved the two-possession margin and sealed the win.

The Vikings defense forced Miami into stops at key moments and limited the Dolphins to one touchdown and a field goal. Minnesota did not record an offensive touchdown, relying entirely on Reichard’s leg for scoring. The victory moved Minnesota to 4-0 overall and 2-0 at home. The Miami Dolphins fell to 0-4 overall and 0-3 on the road.

The Vikings again showed that a complementary mix of stout defense and reliable kicking can win close games when the offense struggles to finish with touchdowns. Reichard’s range and consistency turned stalled drives into points, converting attempts from long range that the offense could not finish. Minnesota will need more red-zone production from Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray and his playmakers to avoid relying on field goals against tougher opponents. If the club can add touchdown scoring, it will be harder to foresee close calls deciding its games.
