Signing KhaDarel Hodge to the practice squad gives the 49ers an experienced depth option with nine NFL seasons and 121 games of experience. His career totals — 68 receptions for 1,044 yards and two touchdowns — are modest but reflect meaningful game exposure. Keeping him on the practice squad preserves roster flexibility while the team evaluates him in practice. The 49ers could elevate him to the active roster if they need short-term receiver depth during the season.
