Los Angeles Rams: Myles Garrett to Practice; Ferguson Likely to Return
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. — Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said Monday, Nov. 2, 2026, that outside linebacker Myles Garrett (knee) will practice this week. Practicing will open the 21-day window that gives the Rams time to decide whether to activate him off injured reserve. McVay added that tight end Terrance Ferguson (ankle) is “more likely than not” to begin a return-to-practice process this week, but the club will see how he feels before starting that window.
Garrett has been on injured reserve since Sept. 17 after undergoing knee surgery three days following the Rams’ Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Australia, and he has been eligible to return since Week 6. McVay said he wanted to be careful about setting expectations for when Garrett will play and emphasized a day-to-day approach to his ramp-up. “I think just taking it a day at a time is going to be the best way that we can approach it,” McVay said. He called it a real positive that the team is starting Garrett’s clock and said they will monitor how he responds to practice.
Ferguson has been on injured reserve since Oct. 2 after sustaining a medial ankle sprain against the Denver Broncos in Week 3, and he became eligible to return last week. McVay said it is “more likely than not that we will” start Ferguson’s 21-day clock this week, but that the team wants to see how he is feeling. Starting the window would allow the Rams to evaluate Ferguson in practice before deciding whether to activate him to the roster.
McVay said cornerback Jaylen Watson aggravated his shoulder Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers and that the staff will take a day-to-day approach with him. Trent McDuffie came in feeling better than expected, McVay said, but the team will also monitor his back as the week progresses. The coach emphasized a cautious approach to avoid further setbacks for both players.
Inside linebacker Grant Stuard injured his hamstring in pregame warmups and is considered week-to-week, according to McVay. Running back Dean Connors broke his hand during Sunday’s game and is scheduled to undergo surgery Monday, with McVay saying Connors is a candidate for injured reserve. Tight end Colby Parkinson missed Sunday’s game with a rib injury and is “making really good progress,” McVay said.

Opening Garrett’s practice window starts a 21-day evaluation period for a possible return to the active roster, and the club will monitor his response to practice before making a roster decision. Ferguson entering the same return-to-practice process would give the Rams an opportunity to assess tight end depth in game preparation. The team is taking a cautious, day-to-day approach with Watson and McDuffie while also managing short-term injuries to Stuard and Connors as it evaluates recovery timelines.
