The New Orleans Saints announced on Nov. 3, 2026, that they claimed running back Audric Estimé off waivers from the Cleveland Browns and terminated the contract of kicker Daniel Carlson. The move reunites Estimé with the Saints after he spent training camp and the preseason with the team in 2026. He initially joined New Orleans during the 2025 season and appeared in seven games, including one start.

Estimé appeared in one game with the Browns in 2026, rushing nine times for 19 yards and scoring one touchdown. He also spent time on the Minnesota Vikings practice squad before the Saints claimed him. He is a 5-foot-11, 227-pound back who played at Notre Dame.

In 2025, Estimé carried 46 times for 198 yards and one touchdown and added 12 receptions for 103 yards. Those totals amounted to 301 yards from scrimmage during the 2025 season. The Saints announced the claim and the termination on Nov. 3, 2026.

In the corresponding move, the Saints terminated Carlson’s contract. The club did not announce a replacement or further roster plans in the Nov. 3 statement. The transaction creates an opening on the Saints’ roster and at the team’s kicking position.

NFL Sports Blog Take

Bringing Audric Estimé back gives the New Orleans Saints a running back who is familiar with the organization and who produced 301 yards from scrimmage in 2025. His recent NFL action, including a rushing touchdown with the Cleveland Browns, shows he has continued to find opportunities at the league level. The termination of Daniel Carlson’s contract leaves the Saints with a vacancy at kicker that the club will need to address in short order.
