The Los Angeles Chargers announced on Nov. 3, 2026, that former wide receiver Anthony Miller will be inducted into the Chargers Hall of Fame. Miller, who spent six of his 10 NFL seasons with the franchise, described the honor as emotional and meaningful, saying, “I cried a lot” and “This is where I had my best career.” The team said the induction joins Miller with other franchise greats. The Chargers published those comments in a story by Omar Navarro Jr. on Nov. 3, 2026.

Miller was the No. 15 overall pick in the 1988 NFL draft and quickly became one of the club’s primary targets. In 93 games for the Chargers, he totaled 374 receptions for 5,582 yards and 37 touchdowns, figures the team says rank in the top 10 in franchise history. The Chargers also noted Miller made four Pro Bowls and posted three 1,000-yard receiving seasons, including his 1989 campaign with 75 receptions for 1,252 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Beyond his work as a receiver, Miller contributed on special teams, accumulating more than 1,200 kickoff return yards during his Chargers tenure. The team highlighted that he ranked among the NFL’s leaders in yards per return twice and that he scored two return touchdowns. Miller recalled signature moments such as a 91-yard kickoff return late in a Sunday night game against the Raiders and a 45-yard go-ahead touchdown against the Cleveland Browns in 1992 that helped launch a seven-game winning streak.

Miller said he did not begin playing football until his senior year of high school before gaining attention at Pasadena City College and later the University of Tennessee. He credited Charlie Joiner, the Chargers’ wide receiver coach when Miller entered the league, with teaching him how to prepare as a pro and how to study film. Miller said Joiner took his game to another level and that he looks forward to joining Joiner and other franchise figures in the Chargers Hall of Fame. He added that the honor provides a lasting recognition his family can share.
