Cardinals sign offensive lineman Kingsley Eguakun to practice squad

The Arizona Cardinals signed offensive lineman Kingsley Eguakun to their practice squad on Oct. 2, 2026, the team’s transaction log on ESPN shows. The signing adds depth to the offensive line as the club manages injuries and roster turnover this season. The Cardinals have used the practice squad to address short-term needs and keep developmental options available.
The move follows a flurry of roster transactions in September 2026 that affected the defensive back group and other positions. On Sept. 23, 2026, the Cardinals signed defensive back Starling Thomas from the practice squad, placed cornerback Will Johnson on injured reserve and added defensive tackle Jay Toia to the practice squad. Earlier in the month, on Sept. 16, 2026, Arizona placed safety Kitan Crawford on injured reserve and elevated cornerback Kalen King from the practice squad to the active roster. The club also added safety Jerrick Reed II and cornerback Art Green to the practice squad and released wide receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette from the practice squad in mid-September.
The organization also made notable offseason and preseason moves as it retooled the roster. The team agreed to a three-year contract extension with wide receiver Michael Wilson worth $78.9 million, signing the deal in early September 2026. On Aug. 30, 2026, Arizona acquired tight end Hunter Long and a 2028 seventh-round pick from Jacksonville in exchange for a 2028 sixth-round pick, and the club placed offensive lineman Chase Bisontis on injured reserve on Aug. 15, 2026. Those transactions reflect the club’s attempt to improve both the receiving corps and its depth along the line entering the regular season.
NFL Sports Blog Take
Signing Kingsley Eguakun to the practice squad gives the Cardinals immediate insurance at offensive line as injuries have affected the unit. The club has repeatedly used roster moves, including practice-squad promotions and injured reserve placements, to manage availability across the roster. With a recent extension for Michael Wilson and the addition of Hunter Long in August, Arizona has combined veteran commitments with short-term depth moves to preserve flexibility. Expect the team to continue leaning on the practice squad and transactions to address needs as the season progresses.
