The Detroit Lions will host the Minnesota Vikings at Ford Field on Sunday, Nov. 1, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. ET. Detroit enters the Week 8 game coming off a 20-17 victory over Green Bay that ended on a walk-off field goal by Jake Bates. Quarterback Jared Goff extended his season-long streak without throwing an interception, going 22-of-32 for 303 yards and two touchdowns in Week 7, while running back Jahmyr Gibbs (143 yards) and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown (153 yards) each surpassed 100 yards. Wide receiver Jameson Williams caught two touchdown passes in Week 7. The Lions also received a boost on defense when safety Brian Branch returned and posted four tackles, one pass defended and a fourth-quarter interception in his 2026 debut, the team reported.

Coach Dan Campbell said Wednesday that the Vikings are “playing outstanding football” and that Detroit will need poise and patience on offense while the defense continues its recent strong play. Minnesota comes to Ford Field undefeated, presenting another difficult NFC North matchup for the Lions. Campbell pointed to complementary team play from the Vikings as a reason his squad must remain composed and execute consistently to have success. The coachs remarks set the tone for a matchup that will test Detroit in all three phases.
