Falcons sign outside linebacker Bralen Trice to active roster, add Jammie Robinson to practice squad
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. The Atlanta Falcons signed outside linebacker Bralen Trice to the active roster on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, ahead of Sundays game against the Chicago Bears. The Falcons also signed safety Jammie Robinson to the practice squad and elevated Robinson and defensive end Drake Jackson for the game. The Falcons elevated Trice from the practice squad three times this season, the maximum allowed under standard practice-squad elevation rules.
When the Falcons elevated Trice this season, he averaged 26 percent of the defensive snaps and produced a notable pass-rush outing in Week 3, registering four quarterback hurries against Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers. Trice is a third-round pick from the 2024 NFL Draft who missed earlier opportunities to play for Atlanta because of injuries. He began the season on the practice squad after clearing waivers at roster cutdown in August.
The Falcons signed Robinson to the practice squad after releasing him from the active roster on Thursday. The Falcons elevated Robinson and Jackson for Sundays game; both players have now been elevated twice this season, and the Falcons are elevating Jackson for the second consecutive game. Under current rules, a team may elevate two players from the practice squad to the active roster for each game day, and a player may be elevated up to three times in a season before the club must sign him to the 53-man roster.
The Falcons listed practice-squad elevations this season include Trice in Weeks 1, 3 and 5 and tight end Nick Muse in Week 1. Defensive lineman Zach Harrison was elevated in Week 2, and Jammie Robinson was elevated in Weeks 4 and 6. Drake Jackson was elevated in Weeks 5 and 6.

Signing Bralen Trice to the active roster removes the limitation created by his three practice-squad elevations and secures a rotational pass-rusher who has shown an ability to contribute on roughly a quarter of the defensive snaps when active. The move preserves the Falcons ability to use remaining elevation opportunities elsewhere while keeping Trice available without requiring a game-day elevation. Elevating Jammie Robinson and continuing to turn to Drake Jackson for back-to-back elevations signals the Falcons will rely on a mix of young depth and short-term roster flexibility as they manage production and availability on defense.
