Jacksonville Jaguars elevate linebacker Jamal Hill to active roster
The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Oct. 31, 2026, that they elevated linebacker Jamal Hill from the practice squad to the active roster via a standard elevation for their Nov. 1, 2026, game. The Jaguars processed the move Saturday and listed Hill as available for the matchup. Under standard elevation rules, the club adds a practice-squad player to its game-day roster without a permanent roster move.
Hill is listed at 6-foot, 227-pound and attended Oregon. He is 25 years old and has appeared in five games this season with the Houston Texans, recording four special teams tackles, two of them solo. The Jaguars said Hill was selected by the Texans in the sixth round (188th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 25 career games with the Texans.
Across his NFL appearances with the Texans, Hill has totaled 14 special teams tackles, nine of them solo, and has one forced fumble on special teams, according to the Jaguars. The elevation gives Jacksonville short-term access to Hill for game-day duties without a long-term roster commitment. Hill joins the Jaguars’ linebacker corps and special-teams units as depth for the Nov. 1 game.
