Jaguars sign LB Jalen McLeod, elevate CB Jabbar Muhammad and S Kaevon Merriweather; waive LB Jack Kiser

JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville Jaguars signed linebacker Jalen McLeod to the active roster from the practice squad, elevated cornerback Jabbar Muhammad and safety Kaevon Merriweather, 26, from the practice squad via standard elevation for the club’s upcoming game against Philadelphia. The team announced the roster moves Oct. 10, 2026. The elevations are standard game-day promotions from the practice squad. The Jaguars waived linebacker Jack Kiser to create roster flexibility ahead of the matchup, the team said.
Kaevon Merriweather, 26, is listed at 6-foot, 207-pound and played collegiately at Iowa. He spent the 2025 season with Tampa Bay, appearing in 12 games, and had a one-game stint with Houston. Merriweather compiled 11 tackles in 2025, including one for loss, and forced a safety. He has appeared in 43 career games with seven starts, totaling 49 tackles (20 solo), two passes defended and one tackle for loss.
Jabbar Muhammad, 24, is listed at 5-foot-10, 185-pound and played at Oregon. He spent the 2025 season on the Jaguars practice squad before the team elevated him to the active roster in Week 4, when he made his NFL debut. The Jaguars originally signed Muhammad as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 draft. The team elevated him again for the upcoming game via a standard elevation.
The team provided no additional biographical or statistical information about Jalen McLeod in the announcement beyond his promotion from the practice squad. McLeod joins Jacksonville’s active roster as the club adjusts depth at linebacker. The Jaguars waived Jack Kiser as part of the roster change. The move creates immediate roster space for the elevations, the team said.

Elevating Merriweather and Muhammad and promoting McLeod gives Jacksonville short-term depth at safety, cornerback and linebacker for the Philadelphia game. Merriweather brings the most NFL experience of the trio with 43 career appearances and proven special-teams value. Muhammad made his NFL debut in Week 4 and represents a young option at cornerback, while McLeod provides additional linebacker depth ahead of the matchup. These moves reflect routine roster management as the Jaguars prepare their game-day roster.
