New Orleans Saints rally past New York Giants 34-27
NEW YORK NEW YORK Tyler Shough and the New Orleans Saints scored 34 consecutive points and held on to beat the New York Giants 34-27 on Oct. 18, 2026.
The Saints trailed early before taking control with a second-half surge. New York struck first when Tyrone Tracy Jr. caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from Jameis Winston in the first quarter. Dominic Zvada added a 34-yard field goal early in the second quarter to push the Giants’ lead to 10-0, and New Orleans tied it at halftime when Daniel Carlson made a 58-yard field goal and Shough found Bryce Lance for a 2-yard touchdown as the half expired.
Shough then keyed a decisive third-quarter run of scoring, throwing a 31-yard touchdown pass to Alvin Kamara and rushing for a 1-yard touchdown before Carlson converted a 51-yard field goal to put the Saints in front. Chris Olave opened the fourth quarter with an 18-yard touchdown catch from Shough, stretching the lead to 34-10. New York responded when Tracy Jr. ran for a 5-yard touchdown and J.J. McCarthy connected with Isaiah Likely on the two-point conversion to make it 34-18.
McCarthy later hit Likely on a 24-yard touchdown, but the Giants’ subsequent two-point attempt failed, cutting the deficit to 34-24. Dominic Zvada’s 41-yard field goal with 2:04 remaining made it 34-27 and set up a final push, but the Saints held after a late red-zone stop to preserve the victory. The win ended a skid for New Orleans.

Shough guided a sustained scoring stretch that flipped momentum and forced the Giants into a comeback role, throwing touchdown passes to Kamara, Olave and Lance while adding a short rushing score. The Saints benefited from long field goals by Carlson and timely offense in the third quarter, while the defense made the decisive play on fourth down in the end zone. New York showed resilience with late scores by Tracy Jr. and Likely and a Zvada field goal, but the failed two-point attempt and the late red-zone stop left the Giants short. The result highlights how a prolonged scoring burst combined with situational defense can decide a one-possession game.
