Northridge’s Luke Amstutz named Indianapolis Professional Football Team NFL Coach of the Week for Week 9
INDIANAPOLIS — Luke Amstutz of Northridge High School was named the Indianapolis Professional Football Team/NFL Coach of the Week for Week 9, the Indianapolis Professional Football Team announced Oct. 19, 2026. The honor, sponsored in part by Certor Sports, recognizes a high school coach in Indiana for his impact on the team, school and community. It follows Northridge’s 37-30 home victory over previously undefeated Class 5A No. 4 Warsaw (8-1) and the Raiders’ capture of their first Northern Lakes Conference crown since 2017.
Amstutz previously received the Indianapolis Professional Football Team Coach of the Week honor in 2013 (Week 8) and again in 2015 (Week 9) while he was the head coach at East Noble. The Indianapolis Professional Football Team noted his prior recognitions as part of the announcement. His history of honors reflects sustained success across different programs and seasons.
The Indianapolis Professional Football Team also named a slate of honorable-mention coaches for Week 9, including Craig Buzea of Crown Point, Paul Sade of Churubusco, Pat Shanley of Lafayette Jefferson, Ethan Robbins of Maconaquah, Max Goodin of Indian Creek, Anthony Henderson of Purdue Poly, William Coonce of Eastern Hancock, Trent Fine of North Davies and Jason Hawkins of Clarksville. The recognition program is in its 27th year and highlights outstanding high school football coaches across Indiana. A selection panel of football media, former athletic directors and other football representatives from across the state evaluates nominees and selects the weekly honorees.
At the conclusion of the high school season, each weekly winning coach will receive a $2,000 donation and a commemorative plaque, the Indianapolis Professional Football Team said. Honorees are evaluated on factors including a coach’s impact on the team, school and community, as well as the team’s performance. For more information, visit Colts.com/HighSchoolFootball.
