JACKSONVILLE — Rookie wide receiver Josh Cameron continued his rapid ascent Sunday, catching his second touchdown in three weeks in the first half of a lopsided victory over the New England Patriots, the Jaguars reported. Cameron said, “I am blessed to be in this position.” He added that he will “continue to stack and make the most of my opportunities for sure.”

Cameron was a sixth-round pick in the 2026 draft, the No. 191 overall selection and the 29th receiver chosen. He is one of four rookie receivers to record a touchdown through the first three games and is tied for the rookie lead in touchdown receptions, the Jaguars said. Head coach Liam Coen called Cameron “really in so many ways, what we’re looking for in a Jacksonville Jaguar.”

Cameron logged significant special-teams duty from the spring and serves as the personal protector on punt units. One play after his touchdown against New England, he sprinted downfield on kickoff coverage and made the tackle on the return. He later returned a kickoff 42 yards, the longest kickoff return for the Jaguars this season.

The Jaguars have intercepted a pass in the red zone in each of the last three weeks. Second-year player Travis Hunter intercepted Patriots quarterback Drake Maye on third-and-goal from the 2 just before halftime to help secure a 14-3 lead at the break, the team said. Cornerback Jourdan Lewis said, “It’s huge because you save points. You take all of the points off of the board.”

Josh Cameron’s early impact underscores how late-round rookies can increase their value by contributing both on offense and special teams. A sixth-round pick who is tied for the rookie lead in touchdown catches through three games and who produced the club’s longest kickoff return this season is earning meaningful playing time. His versatility and routine-driven preparation give the Jaguars a flexible option as they manage personnel and game plans through the season.
