Kyle Hamilton’s Overtime Interception Lifts Ravens to 30-23 Win in Atlanta

ATLANTA 2 1Oct. 12, 20261
The Baltimore Ravens rallied to beat the Atlanta Falcons, 30-23, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium when safety Kyle Hamilton intercepted a Tua Tagovailoa pass in overtime to seal the victory. The interception capped an improbable comeback after the Ravens trailed by eight with 2:31 remaining in regulation. It also provided a dramatic finish to Hamilton’s return to his hometown of Atlanta.
Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley guided the Ravens’ offense late in the fourth quarter as Baltimore worked its way back. Hamilton said he probably knows 500-plus people who were in the stands and that many of them were among those celebrating the game-ending takeaway. The rally required the Ravens to execute quickly and force overtime, where the decisive play arrived.
In overtime, Tagovailoa, replacing injured starter Michael Penix Jr., handled the snaps after Penix was sidelined with rib trouble. On first-and-10 from near midfield, Tagovailoa threw toward top receiver Drake London and Hamilton said he read the quarterback’s eyes before making the interception. Hamilton had not recorded an interception since Christmas Day 2024.
Hamilton described the moment afterward. “Everybody is hitting me up. Pretty sweet moment to end it like that. We have to go into next week, but I am going to cherish this for a little bit,” he said. He added, “Tua tried to look me off, but I was just looking off the quarterback’s eyes, and I just caught the ball.”
Other Ravens with Georgia ties also played well. Linebacker Roquan Smith anchored a defensive front that held Falcons All-Pro running back Bijan Robinson to 86 rushing yards and no touchdowns, and safety Malaki Starks finished with a team-high 10 tackles. Still, the Falcons converted 9-of-17 on third down and picked up several long third-down conversions, exposing situational issues for Baltimore.
Hamilton called the win a step forward for the unit. “That is a game that we have lost many times. That is just us getting over some sort of hump or dark cloud. I am excited for the future,” he said. He added that he did not think the team played well overall and said the third-down performance was concerning, but he noted it felt better to correct those mistakes with a win.

Kyle Hamilton’s overtime interception delivered a dramatic finish and tangible evidence that the Ravens can close tight games. The Falcons’ 9-of-17 success on third down and several long conversions underscored persistent situational problems Baltimore must fix. The run defense held up against Bijan Robinson, but the Ravens must tighten third-down coverage and sharpen situational pass rush before the next game. Hamilton’s play gives the defense a timely boost heading into next week.
