JACKSONVILLE “The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Oct. 13 they signed safety Kaevon Merriweather to the active roster from the practice squad, added long snapper Jacob Bobenmoyer to the practice squad and placed offensive lineman Anton Harrison on the reserve/injured list. Merriweather was elevated to the active roster in Week 5 and recorded a tackle in that appearance. Harrison is listed as an offensive lineman, and Bobenmoyer joined the practice squad to provide depth at long snapper.

Merriweather, 26, spent the 2025 season with Tampa Bay (12 games) and Houston (one), where he compiled 11 tackles, including one for loss, and forced a safety, the Jaguars said. The Jaguars said Merriweather originally signed with Tampa Bay as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 draft. He has appeared in 43 career games with seven starts and has totaled 49 tackles (20 solo), two passes defended and one tackle for loss.

Bobenmoyer, 29, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2020 and has appeared in 97 games with the Broncos (2020-22) and Raiders (2023-25). The Jaguars said he totaled 22 special teams tackles and one fumble recovery, and his 22 special teams tackles trail only Ross Matiscik (25) among long snappers who entered the league in 2020. A native of Cheyenne, Wyo., Bobenmoyer attended Northern Colorado, where he played linebacker and long snapper.

Adding Merriweather to the active roster strengthens Jacksonvilles safety depth with a player who already has recent game experience and multi-team NFL playing time. Signing Bobenmoyer to the practice squad gives the Jaguars an experienced long snapper with proven special-teams production should they need depth behind Ross Matiscik. Placing Harrison on the reserve/injured list removes an offensive-line option from the active roster and could lead the team to make further roster moves.
