Jets add Jamaal Pritchett, Quinton Bell to practice squad; release Tyler Johnson, Cody Hardy and Troy Reeder

The New York Jets signed wide receiver Jamaal Pritchett and defensive end Quinton Bell to the practice squad on Oct. 13, 2026, and released wide receiver Tyler Johnson and tight end Cody Hardy from the practice squad, the team announced. The club also released linebacker Troy Reeder as part of the moves. The transactions are part of ongoing roster adjustments as the Jets manage injuries and depth.
The Jets had signed Pritchett to the active roster from the practice squad on Sept. 26 and waived him Oct. 10 after they reinstated veteran wide receiver Tim Patrick from injured reserve, according to the team transaction log. Pritchett returns to the practice-squad mix less than a week after he was cut. Quinton Bell joins the practice squad to provide additional depth on the edge.
The moves follow a string of roster changes earlier this month as the Jets worked to get players healthy and available. On Oct. 10 the team reinstated Patrick from injured reserve and elevated linebacker Jaden Keller from the practice squad. On Oct. 7 the Jets designated Patrick to return from injured reserve and placed linebacker Braiden McGregor on injured reserve.

These signings and releases show the Jets balancing short-term needs and developmental priorities. Bringing Pritchett back to the practice squad suggests the club values his potential while keeping roster flexibility. Adding Bell gives the Jets extra depth on the defensive line and at the edge. Releasing Reeder trims veteran linebacker depth but reflects a pattern of rotating players to cover injuries and special teams needs.
