Oct. 19, 2026 — By Maddy Glab. The Buffalo Bills signed cornerback Tre’Davious White to the practice squad and released cornerback A.J. Woods on Monday, the team announced. White returns to Buffalo for his third stint with the club after being with the team from 2017-2023 and again in 2025. He started 16 games last season, recording 10 passes defensed, one interception and 40 tackles.
It marks his ninth season with the Bills and his 10th in the NFL. He was originally drafted by Buffalo in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. White’s best season in Buffalo came in 2019 when he recorded six interceptions and 17 passes defensed, earning first-team All-Pro honors. He also was second-team All-Pro in 2020 and made the Pro Bowl in both 2019 and 2020.
He has totaled 19 interceptions and 78 passes defensed in a Bills uniform. Before returning to Buffalo in 2025, White split the 2024 season between the Los Angeles Rams and the Baltimore Ravens. The team noted his veteran voice in the locker room and said he will bring experienced depth to a young group of cornerbacks. To make room on the roster for White, the Bills released cornerback A.J. Woods.

Bringing Tre’Davious White back on a practice squad deal gives Buffalo an experienced option with a proven track record in this defense. His 16 starts last season, plus career totals of 19 interceptions and 78 passes defensed, provide measurable depth and leadership. His prior All-Pro and Pro Bowl credentials underline his high-level resume.
