Dolphins activate Kyle Louis, elevate Gonzalez and Lewellyn
On Oct. 24, 2026, the Miami Dolphins activated safety Kyle Louis from injured reserve and elevated kicker Zane Gonzalez and edge Max Lewellyn to the active roster for Sundays game, the team announced. The team posted the roster moves on its official website as part of its game-day roster management. The elevations of Gonzalez and Lewellyn were designated as game-day promotions for Sunday.
Gonzalez signed with the Miami Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent on March 12, 2026, and spent the offseason program and training camp with the club. He has appeared in 78 career games over seven NFL seasons with Cleveland, Arizona, Carolina, Washington and Atlanta. Gonzalez has converted 115 of 142 career field-goal attempts (81.0 percent), including 59 of 82 from 40-plus yards (72.0 percent), and has made 163 of 171 career extra points (95.3 percent). He also appeared in three postseason games with Washington in 2024 and entered the league as a seventh-round pick by Cleveland in the 2017 NFL Draft after playing collegiately at Arizona State.
Lewellyn made his NFL debut in Miami’s Week 2 game at San Francisco and has appeared in one career game. The Dolphins selected him in the seventh round (238th overall) of the 2026 NFL Draft out of Iowa. At Iowa, Lewellyn played in 43 career games with 13 starts and recorded 64 tackles (38 solo), 14.5 sacks and 20.5 tackles for loss. He also totaled 10 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries, earned All-Big Ten honorable mention in 2025 and helped Iowa reach the conference championship game in 2023.
Louis has appeared in one career game, making his NFL debut in Miami’s season opener at Las Vegas. The Dolphins selected him in the fourth round (138th overall) of the 2026 NFL Draft out of Pittsburgh. At Pittsburgh, Louis played in 37 games with 26 starts and recorded 201 tackles (93 solo), 10.0 sacks and 25.5 tackles for loss. He was a second-team All-American and a first-team All-ACC selection in 2024 and earned second-team all-conference honors in 2025.
The team listed the activations and elevations as roster moves effective Oct. 24, 2026. Gonzalez had been with the club through the offseason and training camp before the elevation. Lewellyn’s promotion followed his Week 2 appearance and Louis’s activation returned a young safety to the active roster. The announcement did not include further roster details beyond those moves.
