On Nov. 4, 2026, the Philadelphia Eagles did not have seven players at practice as they prepared for Sundays game against the New York Giants, the team reported on PhiladelphiaEagles.com. Nonparticipants listed in the report were running back Saquon Barkley, linebacker Jihaad Campbell, defensive back Michael Carter, wide receivers DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks, punt returner Britain Covey and cornerback Jonathan Jones. The team identified the reasons for the absences as hamstring, back, abdomen, knee and ankle issues. The practice report was posted Nov. 4, 2026.

Barkley has been managing hamstring and back problems but scored a touchdown in Sunday nights game in Washington while playing through those ailments, the report noted. Michael Carter returned from an abdomen injury only to reinjure that area early against the Commanders. Campbell (hamstring/quad), Covey (knee), Jones (hamstring), Smith (hamstring) and Wicks (ankle) were all sidelined in that matchup. The Eagles did not provide timetable projections in the practice report.

The Eagles listed several players as limited in practice, including kicker Jake Elliott (right ankle), outside linebacker Jonathan Greenard (ankle) and outside linebacker Jalyx Hunt (knee/ankle). Several starters logged full participation: linebacker Zack Baun (shoulder), tackle Markel Bell (finger), defensive tackle Jordan Davis (thumb), guard Landon Dickerson (hip), tight end Dallas Goedert (knee) and quarterback Tanner McKee (chest). Defensive back Kenny Moore (glute) and defensive tackle Moro Ojomo also practiced fully. Those statuses were part of the Nov. 4, 2026 injury report.

The New York Giants reported two players did not participate in Wednesdays practice, most notably leading rusher Cam Skattebo, who was sidelined with a hamstring issue. Skattebo is New Yorks only rusher with more than 100 yards this season, totaling 418 yards with a 4.3-yard average and two touchdowns in the Giants 4-2-1 start. Edge rusher Abdul Carter missed practice because of an illness; Carter has seven quarterback hits and two sacks this season. The report noted that Skattebo will return to Philadelphia on Sunday for the first time since his rookie season ended with an ankle injury and included his rookie totals of 410 yards and five touchdowns in eight games.

NFL Sports Blog Take

The Eagles Nov. 4, 2026 practice report underscores uncertainty for several contributors ahead of Sundays NFC East matchup. Saquon Barkleys nonparticipation after recently playing through hamstring and back issues raises questions about his workload and effectiveness if he is limited again. The absences of DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks and Britain Covey could affect the Eagles passing and special-teams plans, while full participation from starters such as Landon Dickerson and Dallas Goedert provides stability. Cam Skattebos hamstring issue would remove New Yorks primary rushing option, making availability updates over the next few days consequential for both teams.
