Miami Dolphins Host 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project Conference
The Miami Dolphins hosted the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project Police and Youth Conference on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. The event brought together 660 students from 15 Miami-Dade County Public Schools and 150 law enforcement officers from agencies across Miami-Dade and Broward counties. The Dolphins posted a report about the event on Oct. 29, 2026.
The morning centered on dialogue between students and officers, including role-playing exercises based on real-life encounters, followed by an Amazon-sponsored panel and a question-and-answer session. Attendees then moved into small-group breakout sessions led by police chiefs and law enforcement officers from participating agencies. Organizers described the sessions as opportunities for students to ask questions, share perspectives and build relationships with officers.
Miami Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon II participated in a panel discussion and answered questions from students. He was joined in breakout sessions by offensive tackle Chukwuebuka Godrick, who took questions alongside local law enforcement. Gordon and Godrick engaged directly with students during the conference activities.
The 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project was founded in 1993 by U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson to reduce barriers between students and the people who serve their communities. Kim Miller, Miami Dolphins vice president of community affairs, said the conference was about bringing people together to improve the community. Organizers said they hope the conversations continue beyond the morning at Hard Rock Stadium. The Dolphins said the conference aligns with the Football UNITES program and the Dolphins will continue to support community affairs programming and initiatives such as the 5000 Role Models conference.
The event included participation from multiple law enforcement agencies, community leaders and student groups to broaden the program’s regional reach. Amazon sponsored a panel presentation, and local police chiefs led breakout groups that provided direct interaction between officers and students. The Dolphins organized the conference as part of the Dolphins’ community outreach efforts.
