Pro Football Focus grades are a useful single-source indicator of how a player performs in coverage and in overall defensive play. Ward’s sitting atop those grades heading into Week 5 signals his consistent success in assignments and coverage responsibilities and helps stabilize the Cleveland Browns’ secondary. Opposing offensive coordinators will note that grade and may alter their plans to avoid his side of the field, increasing the strategic value of Ward’s presence for the Cleveland Browns.
